Cardamom is cultivated above 2500-5000 ft msl under good drainage condition .The crop is in flowering which commences from April-May and continued upto July-August. Crop requires 1500-2250 mm well distributed rainfall, cool constantly moist but not water logged condition. Good drainage is required. The optimum temperature for the crop is 10-32 C. Against the above requirement statewise details are given as under: Kerala Among the major districts of Kerala(Kasorgod, Palakkad ,Wayanad ,Iddukki and Pathanamthitta) the rainfall and temperature varied between 110-291 mm and 19-28 C . The late receipt of monsoon adversely affected the early flowering and fruit development . However, rainfall in June-July facilitated the development of fruit. Karnataka The major producing districts Shimoga, Chikmanglore, Hassan and Kodagu received rainfall and temperature which varied between 276-486 mm and 18-25 C. Himachal Pradesh The major tea producing districts of Himachal Pradesh(Mandi, Kangra and Chamba) and Assam(Darrang, lakhimpur, Karbianglong, Goalpara, NorthCacharslill, Dibrugarh, Cachar and Naraon ) received rainfall,temperature and RH 63-242 mm, 18-28 C and 86-89%. The weather condition is favorable for plucking of the leaves and proper growth of buds and leaves. Assam The major tea producing districts Darrang, lakhimpurassam, Karbianglong, Goalpara, NorthCacharslill, Dibrugara, Cachar and Naraon received rainfall,temperature and RH 65-231mm,21-32 C and 87-90 %. The rainfall ,temperature and humidity is beneficial for the quick growth of the buds and new leaves for picking purposes

Cashew

Maharashtra Among the districts Thane, Pune, Kolhapur, Sindhdurg, Satara and Ratnagiri the rainfall,temperature and RH varied between 79-186 mm, 20-28 C and 88-90%. Rainfall and RH and forecasted weather conditions are favourable for internal build up which will help the blushing in the month of October. Andhra Pradesh Among the districts Srikakulam, Vishakapatnam, EastGodavari, WestGodavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore the rainfall,temperature and RH varied between 8-103mm, 25-34 C and 71-84%. Present and forecasted weather condition is congenial for the cashew plantation. Goa Among the districts North Goa and South Goa the rainfall,temperature and RH varied between 209-214 mm, 24-29 C and 90-95%. Excess rain water should be drained out and stagnation may be avoided otherwise future growth and development will be adversely affected. Orissa Among the districts Puri, Khordha, Ganjan, Koratput and Nabaravgapur the rainfall,temperature and RH varied between 175-259 mm, 22-31 C and 81-92%. The prevailing weather condition is favourable however, water stagnation at lower side of the garden may be prevented which is useful for the airation. Tamil Nadu Among the districts Kanyakumari, Thiruchchirappali, Thanjavur and Chennai he rainfall,temperature and RH varied between 6-17 mm, 25-35 C and 67-75%. The cashew crop is tolerant to high temperature. The prevailing dry weather condition may affect the crop coming stage which leads to production.

Coffee

Karnataka The major producing districts in the states Karnataka( Haveri(167 mm), Chikmanglur and Kodagu) cumulative average temperature 22-27 C. The weather condition is favorable for the growth and development of berries. Kerala The major producing districts in the states Kasargod, Kannur, Palakkad and Wayanad cumulative rain received in the last ten days(57-165mm) and temperature 19-32 C.The weather condition is congenial for the growth and development of berries. Tamil Nadu The major producing districts in the states Coimbatore, Salem, Dhamapuri and Dindigul cumulative rain received in the last ten days(8-19mm) and temperature 24-32 C. and the rainfall pattern will be continued. Inadequate rainfall may affect the growth of the berries.

Cotton

Punjab The rain received and the temperature varied for the last ten days in the major cotton growing districts Faridkot, Muktsar, Bhatinda, Ferozpur, Mansa is 33-54mm and 26-34 C. The continuance of humid ,hot condition and limited rainfall is very much congenial for the flowering of the crop and pollination. The forecasted weather condition with mild rainfall will help the above activities. Maharashtra The widespread rain among the districts Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldhana, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Parbhani and Nanded received rainfall between 85-219 mm and temperature between 22-28 C will boost the early growth of the crop. Cotton crop requires more airation, therefore, proper drainage must be made to drain out excess rain water. Gujarat The widespread rainfall and temperature among the districts Kachchh, Patan, Mahesana, Sabarkanta, Gandhinagar, Suredranagar, Ahmednagar, Vadodara, Narmada, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Junagarh, Amreli, Rajkot and Jamnagar is 100-376mm and 24-31 C. The continuance of high rainfall and even forecasted rainfall may adversely affect the early growth of the crop. Excess rain water should be drained out from the cotton plots. Andhra Pradesh Among the districts (Adilabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Guntur,Nalgonda and Warangal) from July-August in black and red soil. The cumulative rainfall and temperature varied between 35-207 mm and 23-33 C. The humid hot condition is favorable for the growth of the crop. The forecasted weather condition will benefit the vegetative growth of the crop.

Rajasthan The major growing districts Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu , Bikaner , Jaipur, Sikar , Jhunjhunu , Jaiselmer, Barmer, Jodhpur and Dausa received rainfall,temperature and RH varied between 41-74 mm,25-35 C and 80-85% in the last ten days . The continuance of mild rain, temperature and humid condition is congenial for the early vegetative growth of the crop Gujarat The major guar producing districts Patan, Sabarkantha , Mahesena , Banaskantha and Kachchh received fair amount of rainfall from 59-267mm ,temperature from 24-32 C and RH from 90-93 % in the last ten days. The prevailing weather condition is conducive for early growth of the crop.However excess rain water should not stagnate in the field and drained out. Haryana The rainfall,temperature and Rh in the major growing districts Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Rewari and Sirsa varied from 42-52 mm, 25-34 C and 83-85% in the last ten days ,the prevailing weather condition will help the vegetative growth of the crop.

Psyllium

The temperature regime of 27-35 C is required for growth and development. It can tolerate both shade and frost . It is photosensitive and flowering occurs when it is sown in kharif season. Among the major growing districts the cumulative rainfall for past ten days was Ganganagar(37mm), Hanumangarh(40mm), Churu(32mm) , Bikaner(15mm) , Jaipur(38 mm), Sikar(35mm) , Jhunjhunu(35mm) , Jaiselmer(30mm) , Barmer(45mm) , Jodhpur(35mm) and Dausa( 54mm) and temperature ranges between 26-40 C . The weather conditions for the past ten days have been very much congenial for the sowing germination and establishment of the crop except for Bikaner where rainfall was very low.

Gujarat

The major guar producing districts received cumulative rainfall for ten days, Patan(59mm), Sabarkantha(53mm) , Mahesena(49mm) , Banaskantha(67mm) and Kachchh(106mm) which is very much congenial for the sowing germination and development of the crop. The temperature is also very much helpful.

Haryana

The widespread rainfall in the major growing districts Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Rewari and Sirsa facilitated sowing and germination of the crop. However, the recent flood in the Ghaggar have damaged the sown crop. Resowing may be taken after the withdrawal of the flood.

Karnataka Among the districts (Dharwar, Bagalkot, Bijapur and Kolar) transplanting of onion is in progress .The cumulative rain ,temperature and RH for the last ten days were 97-104 mm ,21-28 C and 85-92 % . The forecasted weather condition will be congenial for the establishment and development of the crop. Tamil Nadu Among he districts Coimbatore, Teni, Namakkal, Salem and Dharmapuri the rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH varied from 59-198m,18-30 C and 84-88 %. The continuance of mild weather ,good amount of rainfall received and forecasted weather conditions are favorable for the good growth of the crop. Andhra Pradesh Among the districts Srikakulam, Mahbubnagar, Kurnool and Cuddapah rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH varied from 16-141mm,22-32 C and 80-90%. The temperature ,RH and rainfall among most of the districts are congenial for the growth of the transplanted crop except in Srikakulam where supplemental irrigation is required. Gujarat Among the districts Ghandhinagar, Narmada, Bhavnagar, Junagarh, Rajkot and Jamnagar rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH varied from 33-95 mm, 24-32 C and 87-90%. The weather condition is favorable for the transplanting of seedlings and its establishment. The supplemental irrigation is required where rain is less. Rajasthan Among the districts Alwar, Jhunjhunun, Sikar, Jaipur, Ajmer, Nagaur and Jodhpur rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH varied from 21-271 mm,26-30 C and 85-90 %. The temperature, RH and rainfall is congenial for the transplanting of Kharif onion.
