In Northern India sugarcane is planted in autumn(September-October) in other states , (October-November) in Bihar and Orissa ,the spring planting is done in February -March and also late planting is done upto March-April after the harvesting of wheat and other crops .Statewise details are as under:
Uttar Pradesh
Among the major producing districts Saharanpur, Muzaffarpur, Bijnor, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Bulandshar, Aligarh, Badaun, Bijnor, Bareilly, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Kheri, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Sitapur, Behraich, Balrampur, Gonda, Barabamnki, Faizabad, Basti, Ambedkarnagar, Azamgarh and Maharajganj the rainfall (cumulative) ,temperature and RH were 145-254 mm,25-32 C and 87-93 %. The prevailing humid hot condition and good amount of rainfall is congenial for the great grand growth stage. As per weather forecast the production will boost up .
Haryana
Among the major producing districts Kaithal, Karnal, Jind, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, Faridabad the rainfall (cumulative) ,temperature and RH were 176-260 mm, 24-31 C and 90-93 %. The humid hot condition and god rainfall is congenial for the grand growth stage of the crop.
Punjab
Among the major producing districts Gurdaspur,Hoshiarpur the rainfall (cumulative) ,temperature and RH were 181-219 m,23-31 C and 90-93 %. The weather conditions are favourable for the growth of the crop.
Bihar
Among the major producing districts West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj the rainfall( cumulative) ,temperature and RH were 134-172 mm,25-32 C and 88-89 %. The late receipt of monsoon although affected the crop growth. However, the present weather conditions are favourable for the growth and development of the crop.
